Gerard A. Compito, M.D.
Gerard A. Compito is a graduate of Columbia University and SUNY Upstate Medical University, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society. He interned at North Shore University Hospital and Memorial-Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. He completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at New York Presbyterian Medical Center-Cornell, where he also trained at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and the Hospital for Special Surgery. He served as Chief Resident, and then continued as Fellow in Neuroradiology.
Dr. Compito has been a member of Princeton Radiology and an attending physician at University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro (UMCPP) since 1992. He has been the co-director of MRI at UMCPP. He has been a member of the Credentials Committee at UMCPP since 1998. He has served as Vice-President and President of the Princeton HealthCare System (PHCS) Medical Staff, and as a member of both the PHCS Board of Trustees and Foundation.
Dr. Compito has been a consultant on multiple clinical cancer treatment trials monitored by radiologic studies for Radpharm and CoreLabPartners. This included studies on brain tumors, lymphoma, breast cancer, gastrointestinal cancer, and prostate cancer.
Dr. Compito is a member of the American College of Radiology, a senior member of the American Society of Neuroradiology, the American Society of Spine Radiology, and the Radiological Society of North America. He has taught at New York Presbyterian Medical Center-Cornell and Memorial-Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. He also has a teaching appointment at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
