Donald F. Denny, Jr. received his B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1973 and his M.D. from Hahnemann Medical College in Philadelphia in 1978. He served an internship in internal medicine and a residency in diagnostic radiology at Yale-New Haven Hospital, and was co-chief resident from 1981-1982. He was appointed clinical fellow in cardiovascular radiology at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard University School of Medicine from 1982-1983. From 1983 to 1985, he served as clinical assistant professor of radiation medicine at Brown University and was on staff at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence.
He was appointed chief of vascular and interventional radiology at Yale University in 1985 and became clinical director of the Department of Diagnostic Imaging, associate professor of Diagnostic Radiology, and director of the Diagnostic Radiology Research Laboratory at Yale University.
In 1991, Dr. Denny joined Princeton Radiology Associates. Dr. Denny is board-certified in both diagnostic radiology and vascular and interventional radiology. He has served as Chairman of Radiology at Princeton Healthcare System, President of the Radiology Society of New Jersey, and President of Princeton Radiology Associates. He maintains many academic activities and interests.
He has over 50 scholarly publications including original research reports, book chapters, and commentary. He reviews manuscripts for several medical journals in the field of diagnostic radiology, and is a frequent lecturer at professional meetings and courses. He is a Fellow of the American College of Radiology, and a Fellow of the Society of Interventional Radiology. He has received numerous honors, including the Princeton Township Citizen Award in 1999, nomination for the Princeton Healthcare System Physician Humanitarian Award in 2008, many teaching awards, and inclusion in multiple “Best Doctor” listings.
Dr. Denny served as the the Senior Vice President of Medical Affairs at Princeton Healthcare System (now Penn Medicine Princeton Health) from March 2014 to December 2017.
